Schaumburg, IL, USA—Team Europe emerged triumphant once more at the International Cybersecurity Challenge (ICC) 2024, the first ever global Capture the Flag (CTF) competition dedicated to empowering the next generation of cybersecurity talent, sponsored for the third year in a row by global professional association ISACA. This was also the third consecutive year that Team Europe won the challenge, which gives present and future cyber talent the chance to shine on an international stage.
The International Cybersecurity Challenge is made possible by a steering committee comprised of representatives from CISA, NICE, ENISA, multiple global academic and nonprofit organizations, and Katzcy, an organization that promotes cybersecurity workforce growth and diversification. The 2024 event, which took place 28 October to 1 November in Santiago, Chile, and included participants from 48 countries, also featured the support of local government officials and the Universidad Andres Bello, where the competition took place.
ISACA provided the winning team with discounted training and memberships as part of its support of the event.
“It is an honor to be a part of this event that brings together the top cybersecurity talent from all over the world,” says Emily Bastedo, Global Government Relations and Public Affairs Director. “It was inspiring to watch the participants work together as teams to demonstrate their skills while connecting with other young athletes also at the top of their game.”
